Preventive Examinations

“Prevention is better than cure!” Christoph Wilhelm Hufeland wrote as early as 1860.

The health of your eyes also begins with regular preventive examinations – at all ages. Hidden or manifest strabismus in toddlers, incipient myopia in adolescents, retinal changes in diabetes and glaucoma in adulthood, and finally presbyopia, cataracts and macular degeneration in advanced age – most eye diseases can be treated more effectively the earlier they are detected. And many severe eye diseases only become noticeable when it is almost too late, and the disease is already far advanced.

We therefore recommend regular preventive examinations at all stages of life, starting with the mother-child pass, through examinations during school and adolescence, to regular check-ups every two years from the age of 40.
