Freedom from Glasses After Cataract Surgery Without Disturbing Side Effects

An increasing number of cataract patients desire not only improved vision through cataract surgery, but also freedom from glasses and effortless, sharp vision at all distances. Previous multifocal intraocular lenses already enabled sharp vision at multiple distances. However, contrast strength was lower than with monofocal lenses, and disturbing light scattering sometimes occurred, particularly at night.

The new multifocal lens “PureSee”™ from Johnson & Johnson combines state-of-the-art technologies to optimize both near and distance vision.

“PureSee” is characterized by a particularly clear visual experience while simultaneously minimizing disturbing side effects. The contrast strength is comparable to a monofocal lens. Another feature is the seamless transition function between different visual ranges, which enables the patient to see clearly without additional visual aids—whether reading, working at a computer (see computer glasses), or driving.

The lens is tailored to patients who strive for the most complete freedom from glasses possible while maintaining a high quality of life in everyday activities. Through improved depth of field and contrast, “PureSee” offers high visual satisfaction.

At the Eye Center Graz, we already routinely use this premium intraocular lens alongside other specialized lenses. During the preparatory consultation for cataract surgery, we provide comprehensive advice and work with you to select the intraocular lens that is right for you.
