This specialized examination serves to ensure the performance and health of your eyes in everyday digital work. It includes the following steps:

  • Testing for (hidden) visual impairments: A precise eye test to determine your diopter values. Occasionally, it is necessary to “relax” the eye’s focusing muscle with special drops (cycloplegia). Please note that you will not be allowed to drive a vehicle for several hours afterwards.
  • Clarification of (hidden) strabismus: We check the interaction of your eyes to ensure that no misalignments make concentrating on the monitor more difficult.
  • Examination of the ocular surface: We analyze your tear film for signs of dryness or instability—a common cause of burning or tired eyes during computer work.
  • Check for media opacities: We examine the cornea, lens, and vitreous body for clarity to rule out optical disruptive factors.
  • Retina and optic nerve check: Pupil dilation (mydriasis) may be required to assess the fundus of the eye. As this temporarily restricts your ability to drive, you should not arrive for this appointment in your own car.

Flexible management: In many cases, we can split the examination so that you can take your prescription for computer glasses with you immediately, and the eye-drop examination is carried out at a separate appointment or at the end.
